IBM Cloud provides some hosted VMware solutions while Foglight® for IBM Cloud Migration Assessment dashboard helps the IBM Cloud customers to review their on-premises environments, provides appraisal of the costs to run those workloads, and migrates VMware VMs to IBM Cloud Servers for VMware Solutions Dedicated.
The Release Notes cover the resolved issues, known issues, workarounds, and other important information about the 6.1.0 release of the Foglight for IBM Cloud Migration Assessment. Review all sections before starting the installation.
This 6.1.0 release of Foglight for IBM Cloud Migration Assessment accompanies the release of Foglight Evolve 6.1.0. It is the first release and does not include any resolved issue or enhancement.
There are no known issues known to exist at the time of this release.
Foglight for IBM Cloud Migration Assessment 6.1.x requires Management Server version 6.1.x and Foglight Agent Manager version 6.1.x. It also requires Foglight for Cost Director lite version 6.1.x.

Foglight includes a licensing capability that restricts access to those features that are defined in the license. Any Management Server installation requires a license that grants access to server-specific parts of the browser interface and the features associated with them. Foglight cartridges are also license-protected. While some cartridges are covered by the base Foglight license (such as Foglight Agent Manager cartridges and the Cartridge for Infrastructure), others may require an additional license.
Foglight for Cloud Migration is covered by the Foglight Evolve Cloud and Flex license.
To activate a trial or a purchased commercial license:
Foglight for IBM Cloud Migration Assessment 6.1.0 is a software release, and consists of the .car file required for installation on the Management Server and the necessary documentation.
Foglight for IBM Cloud Migration Assessment 6.1.0 comes pre-installed on Foglight Evolve 6.1.0. Foglight for IBM Cloud Migration Assessment can be installed on the Foglight Management Server versions listed in the Upgrade and Compatibility section.
