Welcome to Quest VROOM

These Release Notes cover the resolved issues, known issues, workarounds, and other important information about the 1.2 release of Quest VROOM. Review all sections before starting installation.

This 1.2 release of Quest VROOM Dashboard accompanies the release of Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition 8.7. The following is a list of issues addressed and enhancements implemented in this release.

Changed "Physical Host" to "Host" for Recovery Point Only agents on the Rapid Recovery Infrastructure > Rapid Recovery Agents table.

VRM-199

Fixed issue where Rapid Recovery alarm was not cleared even if this alarm has been acknowledged.

VRM-195

Fixed issue where Rapid Recovery agent could not collect data due to the "Cannot detect Hyper-V version" error.

VRM-182

Fixed issue where there was no validation when adding a new Rapid Recovery agent or a new Veeam agent.

VRM-181

Fixed issue where the value of Failed Protected Machines on the Getting Started > Machine Connectivity view was incorrect.  

VRM-170

The amount of transfer job on the Getting Started dashboard was different from the value in the Rapid Recovery console.

VRM-134

The name of replicated agent always displays "n/a" on the Rapid Recovery Infrastructure dashboard.

Adjust the VROOM dashboard to be self-adaption.

VRM-122 Support the domain account for accessing Rapid Recovery APIs.

This 1.2 release of Quest VROOM includes the following known issues at the time of this release.

RR-102491

Fails to get the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of a Rapid Recovery agent host.

The virtual machine ID cannot be obtained if this virtual machine is protected by installed agent, which results in the mapping failure between this virtual machine and the installed agent.
Workaround: Change the protection mode to agentless mode for virtual machines protected in Rapid Recovery Core Server.

System requirements

Product licensing

Foglight includes a licensing capability that restricts access to those features that are defined in the license. Any Management Server installation requires a license that grants access to server-specific parts of the browser interface and the features associated with them. Foglight cartridges are also license-protected. While some cartridges are covered by the base Foglight license (such as Foglight Agent Manager cartridges and Foglight for Infrastructure), others may require an additional license. Quest VROOM Dashboard is covered by the base Foglight for Virtualization Enterprise license.

 

To activate a trial or a purchased commercial license:

  1. On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click Administration > Setup > Manage Licenses.
  2. Click Install.
  3. In the Install License dialog box, click Browse.
  4. In the file browser that appears, specify the location of the license file.
  5. In the Install License dialog box, click Install License.

 


Getting started with Quest VROOM Dashboard

Contents of the release package

Quest VROOM 1.2 is a software release, and consists of the .car file required for installation on the Management Server and the necessary documentation.

 

The Quest VROOM Dashboard release package contains the following products:

Installation instructions

Quest VROOM Dashboard 1.2 comes pre-installed on Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition 8.7. Quest VROOM Dashboard can be installed on the Foglight Management Server versions listed in the Upgrade and Compatibility section.

 

To install Quest VROOM Dashboard :

  1. Download the following packages from Quest Support Portal:
  2. On the Cartridge Inventory dashboard, install the following cartridge files. The sequence of cartridge installation is important because of their dependencies:
    1. DRP-5_7_4.car
    2. VROOM-1_2_0.car
