Getting started with Foglight for Microsoft .NET
Foglight™ for Microsoft .NET gives you the tools you need to monitor the availability and performance of your Microsoft .NET applications. Foglight for Microsoft .NET version 5.9.11 is the last release to support Microsoft® Windows 2003 and Windows XP.
These Release Notes cover the resolved issues, known issues, workarounds, and other important information about the 5.9.11 release of Foglight for Microsoft .NET. Review all sections before starting the installation.

The following is a list of issues addressed and enhancements implemented in this release.
|FAPM-1792||The Nexus agent should not populate the primary IP address.|
|FAPM-1774||Fixed issue where the setup of agent was failed by accident.|
|FAPM-1741||Fixed issue where the same request shows different Request URL addresses in the Single Traces list.|
|FAPM-1668||The .NET Transaction agent does not support Microsoft Windows 2003 and Windows XP in the 5.9.10 release of Foglight for Microsoft .NET.|
|FAPM-1642||The integration result is incorrect when Standalone Application does not exist.|
|FAPM-1637||Fixed issue where the registry path of system version is incorrect.|
|FAPM-1571||The "Context entry with key 'JavaEERequestModel' contains a null value but a fallback was not specified" error displays on the Application Servers Monitor dashboard.|
|FAPM-1445||The integration is failed by accident, when performing a standalone application and Windows service instrumentation.|

|FAPM-1817||Requests are missing when calling .Net WCF Service on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 with .Net 4.0 installed.|
|FAPM-1555||Fails to add SeparationRules in the recording.config file, if the value of Separation Parameters is empty.|
|FAPM-87||The "UndeclaredThrowableException" error occurs when deactivating/activating Nexus if the debug level is set to 2, or when a new Nexus cartridge gets installed over a Nexus running on the debug level 1.|
The latest version of Foglight for Microsoft .NET is version 5.9.11. Upgrades from version 5.9.4 and later are supported.

Foglight for Microsoft .NET 5.9.11 accepts connections from .NET agents versions 5.9.10, 5.9.9.x, 5.9.8.x, 5.9.7.x, 5.9.6.x, 5.9.5, 5.9.4.x, 5.9.3.x, and 5.9.2. Earlier versions of the .NET agent, including 5.9.1, are not supported.

Foglight includes a licensing capability that restricts access to those features that are defined in the license. Any Management Server installation requires a license that grants access to server-specific parts of the browser interface and the features associated with them. Foglight cartridges are also license-protected. While some cartridges are covered by the base Foglight license (such as Foglight Agent Manager cartridges and the Cartridge for Infrastructure), others may require an additional license.

Important: If you are using the embedded Foglight Agent Manager, before you begin the installation, you must adjust certain Agent Manager settings to ensure proper Nexus performance. Read the section "Before You Begin the Installation Process" in the Foglight for Microsoft .NET Installation and Configuration Guide and complete the procedure.
Foglight for Microsoft .NET is distributed as a .car file: ApplicationServers-DotNET-5_9_11.car. Use the Administration > Cartridges > Cartridge Inventory dashboard to install the cartridge. For full installation instructions, refer to the topic "Installing Foglight Cartridges" in the Foglight Administration and Configuration Help.
